When I told my Dr. I wanted to use the Mirena, it was at my 6 week postpartum check-up. I had only read about it in magazines and on there website and decided it would be something I'd like to use. He made me an appointment for like one or two weeks later to have it put in, once they made sure my insurance would cover it.

All he really said to me was that the side effects included perforating the uterus, and your husband may possibly feel it, but it should not be a problem. Also told me how to check for the strings. At the moment I can't remember anything else he really had to say about it, but that it needed to be out exactly at 5 yrs.

You know the teeth grinding is weird, but I actually think I may have TMJ. Because my son, when he was 2 jumped to me and I was going to catch him, when his head hit me from underneath my chin. It hurt so bad, I had a headache almost instantly, then about 2 weeks later, my Bite down when eating was painful, my husband thought it was my wisdom teeth, but my dentist said it wasn't and asked if any thing had happened, because it sounded like TMJ to him, and ever since, periodicly , I get neck and shoulder tension, and even saw a chiropractor last summer, which straightened me out.

But ever since this summer the clenching started,and like you said, I even clench them throughout the day, it's like it's Sub-consciously, Because i will suddenly realize i'm doing it, but it's hard to even stop once you know you are doing it. Sometimes I wake up with a sore jaw and my lip or tongue has a sore on it from rubbing my teeth in the middle of the night. I guess the Mirena could still cause this, only time will tell that, I am still clenching as I speak!

I'm so glad I found this site, it's nice to be able to talk about our symptoms with others who are going through the same thing.

I will keep you updated on my Mirena Free life, It's been 2 days, and I really only see one difference but am so glad...that is the acne, my face would start fresh everyday with new bumps and flaking skin, it looks smoother this morning! Yeah!
