When I swished a few years ago I brushed my teeth with baking soda and rinsed thoroughly.  I now use commercial toothpaste and rinse with 3% H2O2, undiluted.  Rinsing with H2O2 daily is recommended by Dr. William Campbell Douglas (an alternative MD) in his medical newsletter.  H2O2 will kill the bacteria in your mouth which collects on your heart valves.  Are you aware that heart attacks are caused by bacteria in your mouth?  Some are.  I also use a tongue scraper, daily.  I also chew and eat raw garlic which also kills bacteria.
