I'm only appeasing your love of anecdotes, but of course I know of dentists over 70. My dentist is in his 50s and attends his school reunion every year where there are many older retired dentists who still attend.

If you think the number of dentists of that age who don't "behave normally" is different than the rest of the population, I would be interested to see your source.
