Well, what you believe could possibly be true, but I am not aware of any evidence of it. It does sound logical on its face that calcium ascorbate might alleviate scurvy symptoms, but, I also believe it well known that scurvy is a disease that is caused by lack of vitamin C, and not of the mineral calcium. Thus, administration of calcium ascorbate may provide ascorbate anion (negative charge on the ascorbate).

But, there are many who believe that vitamin C is not simply ascorbic acid or its salts, but rather is a complex, including bioflavinoids, and that ascorbate / ascorbic itself is not the sole active.

I don't know of any cases where anyone was in a state, as you describe, of massively and severely deficient in metals, such as calcium or magnesium , who were given an inorganic salt such as calcium hydroxide, magnesium sulfate, etc. and were made a miraculous recovery, but I am willing to learn if you can share a reference or two.

I tend to believe Price, over those who promote inorganic minerals. Kale, broccoli and others in the brassica family are great sources of organic form of alkaline earth metals. Solid salts are refined substances.
