Forgivenss is often not connected to attonement.  This is a disservice to reality.

Fashioning Amends to meet the circumstances is the essence of the true challenge.  Through attonement, forgiveness can be extended.

Even if Those who have wronged you will not consider restitution, by having creative amend to suggest on a path to forgiveness, creates a more healthy mind so the issue can be set aside, The prupose of Forgivness is to forget.  I suggest taht delineating amends, to present if asked, is another way to compartmentalize issues aginst those who have wronged us.
