The concept isn't evil or negative in itself. There does seem to be a lot of resentment towards the idea though.

Several ideas of consciousness float around this site, and if you take a few of them, put them together... like the concept that time does not exist, everything is "now", everything is connected, vibrations have a ripple effect, the law of attraction, etc... so it's not a stretch that the "future" could have an influence on the "past", the future could change the past. So perhaps the past is continually changing (along with our present interpretation of the past). So our memory continually changes as we do things that influence our past but we only know what is "now" because the old "past" was erased and overwritten by the new vibrations of the now. Does that make sense?
