My experience w/ putting oil on wounds, (I've only used vitamin E oil), is that it tends to make the wound scar even worse. (I scar pretty badly b/c of the melanin in my my olive skin.)I'd use honey instead. But that is just me. If your son is very fair skinned, the results of the vit. E treatment could be different.
