I haven't read Dr Clark's book, so I'd have to have you ask questions...

I can share my liver/gallbladder experience with you tho:

My liver was extremely swollen and painful. This was at it's worst the end of 2005.

I began my self-experimenting with Clark's protocol liver flushing. After doing them appx every 4th week over 6-7 months, I tried taking liver cellular detox herbs and they caused pain in the area. This was proof enough to me that you cannot detox the cells of the liver until you've cleaned the organ's pipework.
