If you're breast-feeding, then the "disease" I described won't apply to you. Baby Bottle Decay happens because up to 1/3 of the day is spent with a bottle in the mouth....bathing the teeth with they're favorite Sugar water. No amount of brushing the teeth can keep up with that.
Perhaps your child does have one of the rare developmental dental problems such as amelogenesis imperfecta or dentin dysplasia. I should stress that these are INCREDIBLY rare and often very obvious from the beginning. Tragically, the vast majority of dental decay is simply an imbalance between the amount of Sugar they eat and how well we parents are able to clean the teeth. If there are cavities, then hygiene isn't up to par, period.
My 2-year-old will have his first dental visit next week, so that's when I'll get my report card!
