Hey Wombat --
The post I read alluded to the Genetically-Modified-Organisms nature of corn, and the site I went to (globalsweets.com) touted their hardwood organic source. It seems to occur in many places (xylitol) -- almond shells, trees, etc. -- and even our own bodies make it (can't be all bad, right? although my own body made the nasty gunk that came out of me from my recent liver flush, so maybe it CAN be bad...).
I am pretty grossed out by ubiquitous corn products these days so I think I will get the non-corn. I have been reading Nina Planck's great articles on industrialized foods (corn, soy, etc.) and it is amazing how much they sneak corn into everything! I miss real-sugar coke, for starters. The corn lobby is a big one!
I digress, but I am glad you are up! I can't sleep and so am Curesurfing...
Happy pulling!
Laura
