There is really not much to it. Just Press one of the two 'bumps' (poles) on the top of battery to the place of issue (if there's more, try to cover the space in between the poles). You should feel a tingling sensation. If you want a stronger effect, you can try to moisten the area. You may want to reverse the poles and do the same. There is a more sophisticated 'zapper' on the market, that costs about $30 (containing the same battery) but $2.99 battery is quite sufficient. Hope this will explain.
