I have been told by a doctor that I have IBS, but no had it confirmed. A few weeks ago I had this problem which has now come back. I am oil pulling every day which I am convinced has started removing mucus from my system. I smoked for 37 years, and gave up 3 and a half years ago. What is happening is that I feel like I have something stuck in my gullet, especially at the top where the collar bones meet. I also feel sometimes that my whole gullet has something in it. Also sometimes I feel like I have wind in my gullet that won't come up. Today after about three hours after lunch (prawn salad with a talblespoon of cider vinegar) I managed a tiny burp. Since then I just feel full up, and with a lump behind the hollow where the collar bones meet. I went back to the other symptom I had a few weeks ago, which was when I woke up (early) I had to keep swallowing. I ended getting up early just to get away from all the swallowing. I also get bad indigestion across my chest which is like a sharp pain. Cider vinegar helps with this to some extent. I usually get it with food like fish and chips. Needless to say I am eating healthily now. I have a gut feeling that this is a mucus problem as I feel stuffed up all the time. After my oil pull I do Jali Neti which doesn't seem to remove any mucus. Sorry this is so long, but it is a complete mystery to me, and I would love to see if anyone else has had anything similar.
