Just a side note - Bulimia is the eating disorder where people purge after eating. Anorexia, the eating disorder mentioned in this question, is where the person severely limits their food intake out of fear of becoming "fat".

And to respond to the question, not all anorexics eat fruit/veggies exclusively. Some live on hard candies, toast, rice cakes, pop... whatever food they perceive as "safe". The emotional issues are the most toxic though. Most people with an eating disorder are just committing a passive form of suicide - if they can't look like their "ideal", then they don't want to live. They have no inner self worth. It's extremely difficult and a horrible state to be in.
