she uses the cold pressed organic sunflower oil... that is it.

I suspect better results could be had with a few drops of oregano oil, but only I do that, she has not wanted to yet, and I do not push it.

periodontal disease is all about bacteria, I think any good unrefined oil would work well. I like coconut oil and would try it for this. It is supposed to have antiviral, anti-fungal, and antibacterial effects.
