Yep. And as she pointed out, IT'S FREAKY, isn't it?!

It is freaky. I have done like the Three Stooges used to do to their faces all the time! (Whooooobwoobwoob)

Thanks for the laugh. It is so comforting to have found this board at this late in the game. I didn't even know there was a name for this pattern until just recently. Thank you, Jesus!

Like you wrote, they blame others. My NPD husband is clear as a bell about it. He has hit me (in the past) and is TOTALLY like "See what you made me do?" UNREAL.

And there is some sort of invisible brick wall that they hit. When I see him (and you can sometimes see or KNOW that this is happening right before your eyes!).... that they are considering "the wickedness of their ways"-- and then it is just like they hit a brick wall or something. Flipping a light switch. Like "oh, no, that's not ME." But logic takes them there. If they did ABC and that ABC action(s) were CRIMINAL and EVIL then logically they are responsible and wham--they can shut down right before your very eyes. It has happened HUNDREDS of times with my husband. And then it's like they just go whistling off to some golf game.

Freaky? Mine even said, "I am 100% not guilty." OJ. Yes, it can get freaky.

(I dream of the day when I can make all this change and succeed in getting out some day. I may have given up. Right now I don't know. He isn't abusive physically and physically I am a wreck, tried to get out but ended up homeless and don't have the energy to fight right now. I will just keep on keeping on until I see a way. In the meantime, thank God for this board.)
