My husband and I both get severe headaches from Febreeze as well as the commercial room deodorizers and air fresheners and overly strong candles. Essential oils can be perfume grade (usually made with a chemical solvent) or medical grade. With the increased popularity of aromatherapy, there are a lot of poor quality products on the market.

I was taught that perfume or cologne is to be worn such that it is only noticed by someone in close physical proxmity. Too many people are putting on too much fragrance - you can smell them before they arrive and for a long time after they've left. Ever had your restaurant meal ruined when someone at the next table or your server is wearing so much fragrance that you can't taste your meal?
