I am going on a year of using Mirena. It is great not having a period but I can't help but wonder if I am pregnant every month. I also like the ease of use. I am 44 years old and still have a very high sex drive however I have gained at least 5 lbs., feel constantly bloated, and I am getting hair on my face that didn't used to be there. I also find that when I get meloncholy, it can turn into deep depression. I am however going through perimenopause and don't know if it's the hormones in the IUD, perimenopause, or both. I continually think about having it removed but don't want to get pregnant. My husband is not open to a vasectamy yet but who knows in the future. What to do?
