Hi, Yukpa Ofi.

I saw a documentary film called - "Body Snatchers", and they were in Africa. There was a woman being tested for parasitic infection, and she was having her blood taken, under the shade of a tree.
The person who took the blood, handed it to someone out of camera shot. The camera man panned over to see, another man, who had taken the blood sample, and was looking at it, under a microscope. The woman was given the ALL clear, after just 3 minutes. She could now go home to her family, "knowing" that her health was, Ok.
"
3 minutes. Quite a record time, I'd say.
'
It was only "one" easily detectable bacteria that they were looking for, at that time.
"
Or so they say. A lot of times one would find, in regard to Microscopy, that "easily detectable" is an 'utopian' idea at best, which is why I felt curious about those "3 minutes". Just a comment.
"
BUT, the POINT was, apxr.
It was done there and then ! WE must surely be able to do that in our medical practices, I don't see why not ???
"
My question as well.
"
In fact, I'd like to be able to do my own. And YES, I know it's an art form, I worrked in a lab, after hours, for 6 months, as a cleaner. AND, I got to see just about, everything /:. How much did I understand of it, quite a bit. I don't think that seeing how it works, makes ME an expert. It's doable !
"
It's 'doable', yes. I'd say that almost anyone with a couple minutes' worth of practice can see a sample under the scope. But there is a great difference between being able to watch a sample and being able to understand what's possibly going on with it in terms of biology and/or health instead.
It would be a grave mistake to assume that Microscopy can be performed skillfully by just observing a sample or simply by owning a Microscope or related equipment. It all goes far beyond that, in my opinion.
I'd say that in terms of health, if you wish to perform factual observations under the Microscope or otherwise, you need serious and disciplined and DEEP study; that is if you don't wish to fall into the field of 'Junk Science' or worse. I would also say that any person without the proper formal training, that in consequence relies on his or her own [mis]understanding and eyes to attempt a diagnosis of any kind, or to hypothezise about any given physiological condition based on observations from a sample, is in for a surprise! Microscopes can be very expensive and unbelievably dangerous toys, specially because what can be seen through them can be so deceiving!
For reasons of personal safety alone, I would not encourage anyone in their homes to try Microscopy for health purposes, specially on their own.
