I have to believe that any kind of learning requires thinking and cognative function, which is body based, but I also believe it is a skill we most definitely need to learn to take with us as spirits, and that it is a good thing to so.
I don't think we need permission to be here though, as we are here because we wanted to be here from what I can see. But now that we are here, it is clear that here is a happenin' place! :)
The idea that here, this world, is either heaven or hell is a good one though. How much one suffers is pretty much based on what one believes, and by believing, calling to manifest in reality. So it is quite true, I have found, that if you believe things are good, you are right; if you believe things are messed up, you are right, too. The only difference in that equation is what the individual believes about the world around him or her. Either we buy into and suffer with the lie of the world, or we choose to believe otherwise and free ourselves.
And I am with you! Why wouldn't god use evolution (or alien intervention) to get us to the point we are today?? (If you missed my earlier posts, I expounded on that theory with the predictable reactions...) :)
