Hello again,

To tackle the dust mite, a good air purifier system is ideal. I would check into the Ionic Breeze by Sharper Image: http://www.sharperimage.com You could place the unit in her bedroom. This would also help to aide you in the cleaning process.

I can say to you with great assurance, and especially since your daughter has tested to show an allergy towards chlorine, that the water (due to its chlorine content) is an issue. Water, (in particular, chlorine in the water) is the constant that has remained throughout your daughter's product changes. Here are some options for water purification systems: http://www.allergybuyersclubshopping.com/waterpurifiers.html

Because water is necessary to clean our bodies and is needed for daily maintenance, this is big factor in your daughter's skin condition. It is not that you need to stop bathing your daughter; it is that the water used to bathe her needs to be free of allergen/irritants. This is why water purification/filtration systems are becoming more "in demand". This has been my nieces greatest advantage in the fight against eczema: the fact that the water used to clean their skin contained no chlorine or fluoride.

The chlorine content in the water, to me, is the mystery behind the latent allergy developements regarding products used to cleanse and moisturize your daughter's skin. As I stated in my earlier post to you, the chlorine begins to taint the product ingredient because they are both making contact with the skin. In essence, and because of that fact, you can't just look at the product in isolation of the ingredients listed in the product. Chlorine has to also be considered in the ingredient due to its content in the household water. It's the cross contamination that leads to the burning irritation (in my opinion). The good thing regarding this point is that there are options for chlorine filtration from the water before it makes contact with the skin. Remedying this problem will make a huge difference in your daughter's eczema condition. Knowing that there is a legitimate reason for the latent allergy developements provides hope. If there was no logical reasoning for the latent allergy developements, then it would prove to be more frustrating.

Regarding the application of the moisturizer 3 times a day, it would probably be better to decrease the amount of applications instead of increasing the amount of daily baths. In the severe stage of breakout with my nieces, we applied the moisturizer morning and night. Each time the application was made to clean skin (1 bath + 1 wipe down with a damp cloth).

Regarding your daughter's diet, I know that you have focused a great deal of attention on eliminating her allergen foods. That is essential; however, it is even more important to focus attention on implementing into her diet foods that restore her immune health. Foods high in beta carotene, zinc, and selenium are your immune boosting foods. In particular, and from that group, the beta carotene food sources will probably be the most prevalent. Zinc and selenium may have to be supplemented through a multivitamin source. To supplement my nieces vitamin deficiencies we give them a daily multivitamin (veggie buddies to be exact). A really good source of information in helping you restore your daughter's immune health is the wholehealthmd.com website. There, you can view a list of the foods needed to restore that health, ("healing eczema with what you eat"). Here's the link: http://www.wholehealthmd.com

Because there are a huge variety of trees, it's probably a particular tree or pollen from the trees from which your daughter is allergic. A restoration of her immune health through the proper diet will go a long way in building up a resistance that would make that issue less of a factor. In her weakened immune state, it is not surprising that a multitude of allergens would manifest due to her vulnerable state. Focusing on immune health restoration through diet can change that. For my nieces, green vegetables (like spinach, kale, and broccoli), garlic, and vitamin C food/drink sources have been major players in their immune restoration.

There are remedies for both the water and airborne allergen problems. I believe that these purchases will go a long way in remedying your daughter's continued eczema suffering.

aunty
