A curious thing happened to me. I've managed to destroy, unintentionally mind you, about a third of my left foot big toe nail. It became detached from the nail bed and I cut some of it off just so I could clean out the area. There is still some detached nail left.
The base of the nail seems intact (rising moon) yet I won't know for sure unless I cut away the rest of the detached nail.
I was wondering will my nail grow back? Should I remove the entire part of the nail that has already been detached? It's hard to say if there has been any growth at all. The trauma happed about 4 to 6 weeks ago. (Me working in the yard in full body covering including knee high rubber rainboots.)
I would like to give my body whatever it needs to restore itself but on this one I'm pretty clueless.
If you have any suggestions please send them my way. Thanks.(No pain. No fungus. Just not a pretty sight.)
