Actually 100% of humans have Candida. It is a natural part of the gut flora. What is less common is when the Candida growth goes out of control and it becomes fungal in nature. People with normal immune systems can have many flare-ups of Candida over growth, but the healthy body is self correcting. For those whose bodies cannot correct Candida overgrowth, it can become a serious disease that has many different symptoms. While there may be some truth that Candida overgrowth is a fad diagnosis, I assure you it is not a joke when the real thing exists in your body. I had it in my early twenties when it manifested as a yeast infection both internally and externally. I suffered for months trying to get it under control. I finally had to use an anti-fungal creme. Yogurt was most helpful in getting it under control. Please do not be too quick to judge others, you rarely know what they are feeling.
