Hi
Please believe me when I say I have tried an anti-candida diet really as strictly as I could also giving up smoking for 6 months. It was tough and I really did my best. The reason I have turned to anti-fungals is after trying the diet with natural anti-fungals and having no results. It's very difficult to tell if my symptoms, hypothyroid, asthma, IBS, sinus problems etc are caused by systemic Candida. So I will try the drugs with diet exercise AND natural anti-fungals and see if the drugs can give me a kick start that I haven't seemed to achieve before. If no change that I might begin to think that Candida is not my problem. But I think it is. I have also read in Ian Solleys book that candida survives on almost anything. If you don't feed it Sugar it will decrease but it can still live on vegetables and foods that are very low in sugar. Recently I had some blood tests after being on the anti-candida diet and my blood Sugar levels and triglycerides were very low, which corresponded to my absolute abstinence from all Sugar related products that had become manic. Unfortunately my mood becomes very low when my blood is so low in sugar. I seemed to go round in circles as Ian Solley writes about. He also used prescription antifungals which didn't help him either. So I am aware that taking toxic drugs is not really a miracle cure. I want to try both approaches simultaneously and hope for the best.
Also there are a lot of people that have tried the diet with pro-biotics etc and not got anywhere. The diet is a really big sacrifice and not easty to follow but I can do it. It just gives me a little bit of a boost to know that I have anti-fungals maybe helping for the first week or two. Everybody is different and I wish I could just go on the diet and have die off and see results but my problem seems to be more ingrained.
I think I will buy the other book if it seems to be worth while. Being ill is expensive!
Thanks for all the help
