But doesn't playing the regulation game (licensure, accredidation, standards, etc) to some extent bring more interest to naturopathy and natural health to the masses?
I agree with the purist approach on principal, but unfortunately we have to play the govt game in order to change public perception. With advent of highly trained licensed naturopaths, it at least helps shift public consciousness toward accepting natural healing as a viable medical alternative. Doesn't this help all involved in natural healing?
Most of the licensed NDs I know do not perform surgery or prescribe any pharma drugs. They also have pretty vigorous clinical internships in homeopathics, botanical, and primary care which seems to be their focus. So I guess from my experience, I have not witnessed this "bad medicine" claim, but I am sure there are some examples out there.
