Sounds like neuropathy, when the nerves start to die.

I would look into this and keep him away from fluoride, Mercury and aluminum.

I would seek another medicine and another doctor's opinion.

Also look into ALA- Alpha Lipoic acid. This helps with the nerves healing. My Mother takes 1600 mg a day for her neuropathy.
