As the article indicates, the AltMed is already making BIG $$$ and making BIGGER $$$$$ every year.  At $483 Million dollars per year in the UK alone, this is not a small industry.

They also tend to suggest that you can live the way you are living and changes DO NOT make a difference. What a bunch of crap.

The article also clearly states, "Of course, there is a convincing body of information that proves that there is a strong dietary basis to the development of cancer.   The article is also very clear, and this is true in that you can't eat your way out of cancer.   You can eat all the Juju fruit and monkey tails you want, (or whatever), but it will not get rid of your cancer, yet this is what many in the AltMed field suggest (especially if they are selling it, or the protocols)

I think the following assesment is very correct "complementary therapists offer something that doctors cannot offer – hope."  Scientists are not very good at offering hope, they are concerned with the concrete, the provable, statistics, number facts.   It is natural for a patient to fall into the deceptively warm embrace of a shill peddling false cures.  It is conforting, at a time when people need the most confort.

What I find even worse, is the disniformation that exist in some aspects of AltMed, like suggesting a parasite, or worm causes AIDS or Cancer.   These claims are devoid of any scientific principles, and they are usually followed by some company trying to sell you something like a juice, magic magnets, special water that has absolutely no effect other than making the seller richer.
