Any opinions/experiences about this subject? I would like to take ALA because it seems to help with neuropathy but the problem is that I have some Amalgam fillings in my mouth so now I'm not sure what to do.

******* If you mean ALA - alpha lipoic acid - the answer is no. ALA is a chelator. It will chelate mercury and other heavy metals. Take it with Amalgam fillings in your mouth and it will pick up the mercury and drive it into your brain and other organs. How quickly you notice what is happening will depend on how poisoned you are initially and how frail your health is. There are plenty of people on the internet who started out in fairly good health and deteriorated horribly by taking ALA with Amalgams or taking ALA in an inappropriate way.

See Andy Cutler's 'Amalgam Illness' book for more details. http://www.noamalgam.com
