You would be surprised about the legal immigrant voting strength. In addition, the illegal immigrants, along with the legal immigrants have a very big political influence, especially among the border states.

I would suggest adding the chemical industries in here as they are intimately involved with the food and drug industries... many food additives and drugs started out as herbicide, pesticide, and rodent control products. We can also look at their Genetically-Modified-Organisms introductions of late and the latest, suggesting the messing with human DNA through chemical pharmaceuticals.

Agreed... there is much more at stake. Big pharma falls, the economy falls. Must keep stock prices and holders happy. Comes down one again for the lust for\of money and power.

Everyone sees this in microcosm in their own lives, within charitable organizations, and at their place of employ. Whether the motive of the life or business is idealistic or not, I would be willing to bet their is a covert and\or overt struggle for power and control along with the $$$$ that goes with it.
