Hi Kim,

Thanks for answering. You are right. I should not have called him a doctor. He did not go to medical school. But he has been involved for a while and done a lot of research in the field of essential oils. And no one can prescribe what oils to use for what. You can only recommend. I had questions about his validity, but after reading and listening to his tapes, I do believe that he is very knowledgable and sincere about the oils he sells.

I don't know about that website you found. I don't think the YL oils or the company can be judged by that site. I think some common sense has to go along with advice given and recieved. I don't think oils are a cure all, but I do believe that they can sometimes help as opposed to taking a pill for something. My son did use oils for an ear infection. He did not put them directly into his ear. In the Essential Oils Desk Reference (which is recommended reading when using the YL oils) it specifically warns against that. It recommends using the oil behind the ear and on the ear, but never inside the ear. It took three days for it to go away, but he can hear just fine and no more pain.

The YL oils are expensive comparatively. Maybe one reason is that it is a MLM company. But they are also organic, grown without any pesticides. They are pure. There is nothing synthetic added to them. Some oils have additives to make them less expensive. It takes A LOT of pounds of ingredients to make just a small amount of oil. It seems like that is the obvious reason that they are expensive.

Thanks for your opinions. I really like to hear another side. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this one. We both agree that oils are a good thing.

Thanks,
Tisha
