Thankyou for posting your advice, I found it really helpful. Here is my original posting from earlier. I am still at wits end but found your message comforting. Don't know whether there is any hope for my relationship as I have lost my way so much.

My Profile
I have suffered major Depression for the past six years. Had the Mirena inserted AUgust 2000 [ Depression started soon after but didn't attribute to coil at that point]. Weight gain, cravings, very enlarged breasts, NO sex drive, horrendous mood swings, rages, loss of interest in everthing I normally loved including walking dogs, taking kids to park, dinner with friends etc. I still thought all of this was due to Depression like my GP informed me. Put the enlarged breasts down to how much I had started to eat.
Had the Mirena removed at end of it's lifespan January 2006. Lost weight this year and felt happier and more social. Still didn't think was anything to do with coil, just perhaps my depression lifting naturally.
Had another Mirena inserted September just gone and the effects reappeared much worse and I then came accross this forum which answered so many questions. I feel like I have turned into a complete alien. Shouting at my kids for silly things....zero sex drive, no energy or motivation for anything...In fact complete exhaustion where I have to sleep straight after school run in the morning and then in afternoon and then after school run. It is exhausting to just cook dinner whereas before I loved that time of day when kids did homework and I got to cook a nice dinner whilst listening to music.
I had coil removed a month ago and the bloating lifted but still struggling to lose weight. No sex drive back as yet. Feeling very drained and can't think straight or concentrate on what anybody says to me. Was referred to a psychiatrist who I saw today. Been prescribed Mirtazepine antidepressants to combat the anxiety but feel I am just in a downward spiral having to take medecine that is likely to cause more side effects.
Does anybody have a happy ending after removal? How soon did you feel back to normal? I am desperate for some light at end of this tunnel. Can't cope anymore.
