Yes, and many here have shared how honey was the prefered wound dressing, in past times. I first heard of its theraputic useages from Jethro Kloss' classic Back to Eden.
However the culture I am refering to is as I said, a very recently discovered, in historical terms, culture living in Ecuador in South America and they had , to the conventional investigators view, a most sohisticated honeybee husbandry. They apparantly ate as the primary foodstuff, honey and various adaptions of it. Also it was determend to some degree that their religion was sophisticated , non-exclusive and peace oriented.(eating honey just might help create such a natural reality revealing culture)
As I mentioned this is a "new "discovery and may not be that easily found if one is so interrested. I will look to find my source so I can follow thru with this.
BTW As I slightly referd in the previous post I kept bees in the early 80's and enjoyed it immensly . One of the best books on honey is the primer ABC and XYZ of Bee Culture by A.I. Root , one of the fathers of modern bee husbandry.
As you talked of the use of honey in rituals and medicine from ancient times it is also of interest that the earliest record that I ve heard of is from " stoneage" times of cave/petroglyphys in Europe of honey gathering.
