been there done that, Those are wonderful points, but my post to beej was in response to their quote:

Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

We must first be willing to seek the Lord and trust in Him.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 KJV

All those people in Hebrews chapter 11 had to be willing to trust in God.
