Hi,

Ya, I suspect calcium may be a problem due to several factors. I hear vitamin D is necessary for efficient calcium uptake, which is difficult to get in a vegan diet. For now I will look for alternatives, as I'd rather not eat meat more out of compassion than health (although I do not have any fundamental moral qualms with eating meat). I do believe it is possible to have complete health and achieve balance without meat and dairy products, I just have to find new ways of adjusting my diet further. Protein I do not believe I have any problems with, if anything I may be getting a little too much!

I have been taking alkalizing drinks everyday as well as a little kelp, which has helped. My pH levels seems okay, typically 7-7.5 throughout the day, no higher than 8, no lower than 6.5. I do have quite a bit of vegetable juices, unfortunately not with the highest quality of produce. I was wondering if adding a little bit of Sea Salt , pickling lime or AVC to them would help at all? The vegetable broth sounds interesting... does it solve the problems with NPNs?

I know exactly what you mean by Live foods being nourishing, but not very grounding... I am very rarely well-grounded! I've been reading up a lot about yin and yang principles when it comes to foods and diet, and supposedly a great deal of today's population is very yin. I will definitely try adding more yang foods to my diet and reducing the amount of yin foods that I eat!

Thanks,

Mike
