This is a common syndrome with people who become
so impacted. I cannot find the file at the moment
but there are cases where people have a BM once
a year or so. The range under that is greater but
you can imagine if someone is not having bowel
movements regularly, and food is going in but
no residue or waste is coming out, that this does
create blockages and minimal bowel function.
The odor is due to the fact that the body is
efficient in that if it cannot rid the body
of waste through some systems, it will turn to
the skin and push out waste in the form of odor,
boils, rashes...etc.
The good news is that your son is young and if
you choose to help him and support his colon
cleaning, you will have him in good function before
time for school and at a time when he will want to
form friendships. This will save him much heartache,
as well, help him reclaim the health of a normal
child.
Here is a link to the bowel cleansing info on the
Bowel Cleanse Forum . I would also suggest a series
of professional colonic hydrotherapy, since his
physician said this was a severe case. I have had
this done and it would be comfortable for a child
and a good therapist could also allay your fears
and concerns about what is going on.

As the earlier poster suggested, you will want to
make this a wholistic approach and consider your
son's dietary needs and change them so that they
will support his good bowel function.
With a comprehensive approach, you will be surprised
at how rapidly a body will heal and in a short while
your son's odor and the shape of his belly will shift
when all the old fecal debris has been moved down and
out.
I wish you both success~~
blessings,
Zoe
