Actually, I know for an absolute fact that hemp seeds and goji/wolf berries are also complete protein foods. Also, I believe soy is poison and shouldn't be consumed unless fermented (aka miso).

I am contemplating a fruit diet also, with the addition of local fresh wheatgrass and herbs such as grape leaves, rasberry leaves, strawberry leaves, dandelion flowers/leaves, mint leaves, etc, etc, without killing the plant, just picking off leaves. :-)

I believe in the fruit diet, and breatharian/sungazing concepts. But I have found in my research (http://www.animalinfo.org/groupind.htm - lick on ape links + http://www.animalinfo.org/species/primate/pan-pani.htm) that all primates - gibbons, chimps, + bonobos (which we are 98% genetically similar to), orangutan , gorillas, all eat honey and eggs. Except mountain gorillas, who don't eat eggs and honey, the 600 mile away gorillas that are a separate species do eat eggs and honey.

Diet of bonobos -
" Fruits form the bulk of the bonobo's diet, but leaves, pith, flowers, bark, seeds, honey, fungi, eggs, and invertebrates (e.g. termites, caterpillars and earthworms) are also eaten. The bonobo has been observed to eat small mammals, including shrews, flying squirrels, and small antelopes such as young duikers. However, unlike the chimpanzee, the bonobo has rarely been observed to actively hunt for meat. It captures most animal prey individually and opportunistically, rather than during a group hunt. The bonobo does most of its feeding in trees, mostly in the crowns of large fruit trees, although it also forages on the forest floor. The main feeding activity, in the morning, is usually concentrated on fruits. In the afternoon the bonobo may switch to less energy-rich, more fibrous foods. (de Waal 1997, Kingdon 1997, Nowak 1999, Macdonald 2001, Burnie & Wilson 2001, WWF 2005) "

If anybody can find a site that has references to scientific documents saying there are vegan primates other than the one kind of gorilla, I would like to see it.

But also, I am a member of a website group that the main guy eats only fruit, and has for ten years, and has videos of himself doing pullups with 90 pounds hanging on a chain off his waist, so it is possible to get very strong on just fruit...

Good luck to all with UT as I practice that on and off.
