I haven't read the book you mentioned in your post, but I read Dr. Lee's book(What your doctor may not tell you about menopause) and got all excited about natural progesteron.Lot of great info. There is also a list companies whose products were tested for containing the amount of prog. he recommended (and companies who's product exceeds the recommended daily dose, or is far below.)
While on prog. cream I kept searching(little sceptical me looking for something negative about it) for more info on this subject, learnt about the compounding pharmacies making progesteron cream "tailored" to the individual person.
Also came across a pharmaciest online, who can refer you to a doc. that will prescribe the BHRT made by this online pharmaciest(not all doctors will do this). And here I found something that scared me, the pharmacist said that even this BHRT can cause cancer.
On mercola.com there is an article warning about progesterone cream accumulating in the fat tissue(it's fatsoluble) and in the long term harming the body, instead of helping. I can't really understand this part, because if one is taking the low dose, that Dr. Lee talks about in his book and the body uses it, how come it still accumulates in the fat tissue.
Anyway I decided to stop using the cream, despite the fact that it helped with few of my perimenop. symptoms.(mood, breast tenderness).
I'm looking into more natural ways. I've been eating healthy, exercise on regular basis, did liver flushes, but it just isn't enough. Lately I started taking green supplement(superfood), that helps a lot with my energy level and I also add cayenne pepper to my water, that has a fantastic effect. Just a small amount makes wonder.
Quiting coffee was one of my best desicions 4-5 years ago.
Do more research on the prog. cream and also get on a healthy Diet path if you're not on already.
Let us know if you learn something interesting.
Wishing you all the best.
