Gaining weight with grains- get your thyroid checked. It is common with canddia to get thyroid disorder and without a helthy thyroid your metabolsim wil not get over canddia.
Fruit- I eat Granny Smith apples every day (for the pectin) and lemon plenty (sugar free lemonade with cayenne pepper). It is normal to crave fruit because they are full of essential enzymes that will incure a healthy bowel environment ( you can take these enzymes as supplements like papaine and betaine).
NO milk product but plain sugar-free Yogurt (or only the bacteria=probiotics). They are essential to restore the natural flora of your intestines.
Proteins: Eggs, nuts (cachew butter or almond butter with yogurt and ginger - in your vegetable dip), lentils and beans are quite alright on the diet. Proteins are of acidic PH, vegetables o f alcalin PH and you want to balance it so you eat more alcaline then acid.
