There are a lot of versions of the candida diet out there, some of which includes other sources of protein. Whey protein shakes are sometimes okay, but make sure they don't contain Sugar - stevia only, and no yeast or starch. These proteins are not acidifying. I eat a little tofu, although regulating hormones means regulating pH, so adding soy to the diet is kind of a bad idea. The biggest help for me has been getting my pH in line. Almonds are another source of protien, and they're high fat, so they'll stick with you like veggies won't.
First and foremost, you've got to get the yeast in balance, and things like colonics, enemas, and Liver Cleanses should be in your future. Also psyllium-bentonite shakes along with an antifungal is important. You've got to get probiotics in and yeast out of your intestines. Check out the thread I started "going on a year now" from just a few days ago. There's tons of helpful info and resources there. I've had a lot of time on my hands, and as candida makes me really, realy obsessive, I've done a whole lot of research. Joining this group was the most helpful thing I've done all year.
