So, 17975, at this point, would it be fair to say that the various responses you've received have been a pleasant surprise for you? As a former "drifter" now retired from that life and once again living close to family and home of origin, I'm guessing you have been surprised since the majority of responses have been in direct contradiction to what you may have heard about "drifters". My hunch is that part of what you've heard is just another case of the 'man trying to keep you down. The 'man has many ways to try keeping people down and otherwise in line. Relying on the peer pressures, influences of highly shaped public opinion and trial by public opinion are among the ways..... "the Ways, once brightly lit, have become dark, dank cesspools of corruption through which a sane person should not travel lest they have great need that warrants such great risk".... a sort of paraphrased quote of Jordan, a somewhat modern Tolkien :)
