I found this link while searching for the health benefits of Lemon Balm herb(which grows like crazy in our garden) http://www.thehealthierlife.co.uk/article/2932/lemon-balm.html
Little did I know that Lemon Balm-- as well as other herbs such as Sage have been recently found to increase circulation in the brain , increase memory and cure memory lapses- and are being used along with Gingko Biloba for mild to moderate Alzheimers disease!
Lemon Balm looks like mint-- and has a distinct lemony scent. It grows like crazy, is a very hardy perrenial that can be dried and used in teas and seasonings during the Winter months.
I believe the health properties it contains are still active when it is dry. A fresh sprig is a pleasant garnish in iced tea during the Summer.
