Another good book for raw diets is: Home prepared Dog and Cat Diets by Donald R Strombeck, DVM.

In the meantime you could give your cat flax oil and/or fish oil, as that will help a great deal with the dandruff.

Once you switch to a raw food diet the overweight issue will come under control.
