Even if this condition cannot be cured, they can help with the dying process as well, and make it much easier for all concerned. My kitty is 19 and slowly going due to kidney failure. She started peeing all over the house, but with with help of a few remedies, she is using her box again and eating better. She even put on a little weight. OF course, she cannot be cured, but her quality of life is greatly improved. So is mine.

You dog might be cured. They can also give you more help with nutrition.
