I was sceptical about this because I could see NO WAY that this could work sytemically.
But I have some good news.
I have always maintained that the submandibular glands were an integral part of the puzzle, and also the lacrymals. These glands are manufacturers of unique enzymes which [I believe] are ones that any pathogen would want to control to survive. The enzyme histidine has a unique molecular stucture which gives it a ampathetic quality. It is also a powerful anti-fungal/anti-microbile compound. It is used by the body to create 'reactive oxygen metabolites' or ROM.
People doing the oil swishing are reporting extraordinary effects. And two of those is the production of tears, and saliva. Very important.
Now for my hypothesis [which to me is a very close fact]. The body uses different areas of the body to expell toxins. The scalp, feet, skin, mouth. Sometimes it even stores it in tissue to avoid circulation in blood. Many toxins end up in glands via white blood cells [plasma]. The oil-pulling somehow, activates in the mouth, enzymes containing histatins. These are then swallowed, activating other glands in the digestive system. This in turn, starts to re-adjust PH balance which stimulates the growth of intestinal microbes. These microbes start to produce enzymes, and a chain-reaction starts, which ultimately re-charges the immune-responses! It also causes unfavourable growing conditions for the unfriendly bacteria.
All this starting in the mouth. The oil also literally pulls the molecules used by the bacteria that "causes white tongue". And cleans the toxins out of oral tissues. I also speculate that the jaw bone itself is a critical junction point for b-cell production. This may explain why dental problems can lead to systemic disease. The oil pulling is a very effective tool and can possibly be elaborated on by using a toxin absorbant like clay. As a matter-of-fact, I think clay packs on glandular areas of the body could make an impact. [all of this is based on personal opinion derived from empirical observation, research and experiments] Shroom
