My kitty has always been fat...not quite like yours, but over 17 pounds. She is 19 now. I feed her raw meat, an powered supplement from Felineinstincts, with some oatmeal and veggies. Getting him off processed food might help.

As far as aches and pains go, a little MSM works pretty good with Ms.Kitty.
