I wrote earlier on this forum a little less than 2 months ago about a regimen of supplements and dietary changes I'd be doing to improve my lips. And since then I've improved the condition of them by about 50%.
I'll give you a little history into what my lips were like. Starting in january my lips would form a blister on half of the bottom lip and and the middle of the top lip. And after about 6 days that blister would pop and the skin would come off, and I'd have okay lips for about a day. Then fast forward to May and the condition got worse. They now got really crusty and hard every day, would apply blistex medex religiously, and everynight scrub my lips really hard until the dry hard skin would peel off. Skip ahead to August and the condition began to get better. How? I don't really know. But I was still a ways off from being healed completely. They were more soft but now, whenever I ate or drank, the skin at the border at just the opening of the mouth would become white and sludgy and would have to be wiped off for my own peace of mind. This in turn would leave me with somewhat raw lips but not entirely.
Well anywho less than two months ago I consulted a homeopath/reflexologist. If you look at my other posts you'll get some more info. But the short of it is, he looks at our lips, eyes, feet, hands and other extremities for clues into how are internal organs are behaving. Our lips are very good indicators for how are internal organs are behaving. The conclusion he came to was that there was an imbalance in my digestive system. He tested me to see how my liver, gallbladder, small intestine, large intestine, kidney, lymphatic system were all behaving. Turns out all of them were out of balance with eachother except for my gallbladder. So he accordingly prescribed me a series of natural medicines that would target those organs that were unbalanced to treat them in the hopes of getting better...
So I went back for a check up a few days ago, and things are looking really good. My lips now feel almost normal. Only once a day will they get kinda mushy around the inside border, and that is only slightly. And in that case I wipe it off, then apply some blistex complete moisture.
If you have any questions about any of this please ask. Personally I think alot of these lip problems are internally related and topically treating them will only fight the symptoms, not the cause. SO I suggest seeing a homeopath and reflexoligist most importantly if you can, because they can do wonders.
