I am looking for any information that anyone might have about Mirena causing side effects that you dont read about. I have a friend that is 34 yrs old, I have known her for 17 yrs. She has 4 children ages 14-4. Her now Ex-fiance refused to use protection so she had a Mirena IUD put in. Not very long after that she started to black out once in awhile then it turned into almost everyday..Within a couple of weeks she was having full blown Grand Mal siezures. She went to numerous ER's , Neurologists, had every possible test and they never found anything, but they put her on siezure meds anyway that did not work. She has been going through this for almost a year & she saw something about it online so she called Planned parent hood & told them her sysmptoms. They told her to get there immediatly, that they had to remove it. That was the 7th of Sept. She has not blacked out or had any other seizures since then. But during this time she kicked out her Ex and now he is trying to prove her to be an unfit mother, saying that the medication she takes for her ADD caused her black-outs and seizures ( even though she still takes it) and that it also has caused her neasea, vomitting, weight loss, severe headaches & SEVERE mood swings, and I
mean they were SEVERE. Basically he is trying to say she is crazy & that her ADD medication has done this & that it is her fault because she is addicted to it. I am trying to find out any information about the Mirena IUD causing the seizures , nausea, vomitting, weight loss and mood swings. Because since she has had it removed,every symptom she had for a year are all gone..That does not sound like a coincidence to me, but I need to be able to prove it. Because obviously if it was her ADD meds causing all of these things it would still be happening and not just go away because she had her IUD removed. So if anyone has any info.
