Hi there, i see where you are coming from. But you have to understand that depending on how severe a person's candida is, depends on how many carbohydrates they can tolerate and allow in their diet. it is easy to say this when you do not have a severe candida problem and are able to continue eatings fruits (even limited fruit intake). etc.

I used to be able to continue eating some fruit a day, and I was all for this and criticised those who were to my mind, going totally overboard by not eating it and other natural healthy sugars and carbohydrates. I was also including milk and eating cereals, so long as I didn't go and eat cookies, cakes, or anything like that with White Sugar . i was fine on the natural healthy sugars. There is no nutritional value in white Sugar whatsoever, if anything it strips the body of needed nutrients and minerals and in doing so, that is dehydrating in itself. Natural sugars are great, but they are not great if a person's health deteriorates from the candida feeding off them.

I did ok on that diet, but didn't eat gluten, or yeast. Only when something else occured and my health worsened, did I find that I needed to get more strict (I got a gut infection from using a product stupidly). I had to leave off fruit and milk, or my symptoms worsened. If I stayed on the limited fruit intake and my previous "ok" candida diet, I remained underweight and was unable to absorb nutrients, so it was actually defeating the purpose. Pointless, the candida had first dibs on the natural sugars, fed itself, and left me unable to absorb nutrients and gain some weight.

So I toughened up and I was doing ok on this, gained a bit more weight. If you consider that I was still eating many healthy foods, like eggs, meat, healthy oils like olive oil and fats like butter, plus eating raw vegetables (which is very hydrating and they have natural sugars also), tomatoes also (which are actually a fruit, just not as sweet), plus yoghurt, raw nuts etc. I cannot see a fault in any of that whatsoever. If I could eat fruit? iw ould eat it, but right now since the antibitoics, I am in deep trouble and any fruit eating, or milk drinking, I buckle right under and have to start from scratch.

So my symptoms that I am now getting, are due totally to the Antibiotics , not to any carbohydrate restriction. If anything, the less restrictive I am on them, the worse I get. So I'm now starting again and tightening up and can only hope things will improve.

You have the right stance, moderation is the key and we certainly SHOULD be able to have some fruit intake a day and more carbohydrates, but not when there is a severe enough candida problem that proliferates on this and the person suffers for it and in doing so, the worse the candida gets, even on healthy sugars, the less nutrietns a person absorbs at the sametime and they spiral down, not knowing why as to them they were eating healthy so how can this be? Easy, there are illnesses that some of us have that are holding our immune system down and causing these natural yeasts that should always be at a certain level to get out of control and bacterial levels to get too high and this should never occur, we should all be able to eat natural sugars. But sadly, we don't live in a perfect world, so we have to compensate and make drastic changes sometimes or we keep the candida even slightly under some form of control. Even then, it's hard if we haven't tackled the underlining problem.
