Hello. My dog had a splenectomy on Feb. 20, 2004. A biopsy was performed and found malignant. She has been diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma. Apparently the prognosis for this type of cancer is bad. I am not hanging onto false hope that she will be cured. I am looking for alternative/natural methods which I can maintain her quality of life as best as we can. I want her to be as healthy and comfortable as possible throughout this painful time. Words can not articulate how much pain I am in to face the realization I am going to lose her. I don't know how long it will be. I've tried to do as much research as I can about hemangiosarcoma. I've been told that with chemo she would live less than a year; possibly 6 months. On the other hand I've heard that even with the best chemo she'd live less than 3 months. I have decided to not put her through chemo, but let the disease progress naturally, then euthanizer her when she becomes too uncomfortable. However, she is my priority and I am looking for anything to help her live the rest of her life as comfortably as possible. I am not expecting a miracle although one would be nice.
