I can't imagine anyone wanting to consume pickling lime and even making it more absorbable by adding lemon juice or sorghum, etc. Most of the old great authors condemned the pickle because of this horrible killer that makes the circulation turn to rock, literally to rock.

I wanted to share some of my experiences with natural lime water and echo the fact that no intelligent person should want to add this mineral to their water. When I moved to Arkansas the only source of water here was from the "house spring". This spring flowed from a large limestone cave. Part of this cave was large enough to crawl into and explore. Those who did reported there were some stalactites and stalagmites growing in the larger rooms they visited. Most of you probably know that these formation are caused by water with its dissolved minerals dripping for years or even centuries. That creates large pillars of rock as the limestone is deposited on older deposits. Some stalactites and stalagmites are vividly colored because of minerals other than the limestone dissolved in the water.
One might ask what does this have to do with drinking water? Well, the answer is that the same minerals that create the spectacular cave formations are dissolved in drinking water and are clogging up the body because they are not the kind of mineral the body needs. My grandmother had a large aluminum kettle she kept filled and on a low fire all the time. She used water from this kettle for her coffee, and for cooking and canning. The inside of the kettle looked like a miniature cave with both stalactites and stalagmites growing from the top and bottom of the limestone glazed kettle. In my experience a leaking faucet on the bathtub developed a stalactite in less than a month, washing machine screen filters had to be constantly changed because they became clogged with rock, the hot water heater had to be drained weekly because so much lime settled in the bottom, shower heads had to be boiled out with vinegar because of the clogging effects of the dissolved limestone. Could it be that this limestone is also clogging the body? The tiny capillaries that carry blood and nourishment to all the body's trillions of cells seem especially vulnerable. We know from autopsies that excess calcium is stored in the joints and organs including the lungs and brain, and is lining the blood vessels making them narrow, brittle and stiff.
My grandparents both lived to be what is commonly considered to be ripe old ages (92 and 89), but they suffered terribly in their latter years. My Grandfather had Parkinson's Disease. He not only had the classic tremors, but was so stiff he could hardly move. I used to help him get up and down, it was hard to believe anyone's joints could be that stiff. My grandmother suffered from osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and multiple strokes. She suffered many broken bones, she also had a form of dementia caused by narrowed arteries in the neck and head and calcium deposits in her brain. Was the old kettle and all its limestone saturated water a factor in her condition? I believe it was.
While my biggest problem right now is recovering from a spinal injury, I can't help but wonder what twenty years of drinking that spring water, and five years of drinking water from Beaver Lake (fed by springs flowing into creeks into rivers and creating this man-made lake, even my house spring eventually goes into Beaver Lake-the source of water for Northwest Arkansas) has done to my health overall. I was in my early 40's when my joints began to hurt and get stiff. Lung x-rays taken about eleven years ago revealed calcium deposits were already in my lungs. I am already a victim of having too much inorganic, unusable calcium in my system. I now use home distilled water to drink and cook with, I use a shower filter too. I can hopefully get rid of some of the built up calcium deposits gained through years of unknowingly poisoning my body with excess unusable minerals. Now I use plant minerals from fresh fruits and veggies supplemented with green "superfood" drinks plus mined sea salt, sorghum, and raw apple cider vinegar.
I cannot understand why anyone would risk their health by adding lime to their drinks. Whatever benefits they may think they are getting will be erased a few years down the road when they risk dealing with kidney stones, possible kidney failure, weakened bones, brittle veins that put them at increased risk of stroke, plus a very real risk of asthma and dementia caused by stored calcium in various organs. Please, throw away your "rock" mineral supplements and get a water distiller. It will probably be the best gift you can give yourself and your family.
