I've been taking oral EDTA and reading as much as I can about it. One source claims that it is the ionic form of heavy metals that cause the free radical damage. As an example, activated charcoal has no attraction to metalic gold, but adsorbs ionic gold ie gold chloride. So perhaps trying to adsorb metalic Hg isn't telling us anything???
